Awarded Newberg Residence - the vandallist (5)

Sunken in the forest or drawn near a beautiful pond? Please, have both!

NEWBERG RESIDENCE is a 1,440 square feet single-family house designed to augment the owner’s emotional relation to the living world. The site was a counterfeit pond in the area of the owner’s farm.

Designers tried to make the pond and the residence a single organism in which the proprietors can have a good and relaxing time and also connect with the wilderness.

The site plan was created so that visitors park their vehicles 150 feet away. They then walk through the forest to a bridge and on to the main entry. The broad panorama of the pond becomes visible only upon opening the front door.

It is the hope that this experience will be memorable to the visitor.
