Casa MS is situated at the Fazenda Boa Vista golf resort, around 100 kilometres west of São Paulo. It was designed by local firm Studio Arthur Casas for a couple with three grown-up daughters.
Following the edge of the golf course, the primary features of the house are the glass walls that allow its residents to enjoy scenic views of the natural environment surrounding the abode. Four bedrooms are placed along the northern edge of Casa MS’s ground floor, away from the south-facing windows that overlook the scenery.
This location provides the building with extensive views of the nearby woods to the south. Only a selection of windows were added to the street-facing northern facade, ensuring natural sunlight is able to enter the building.
On the western end, a hidden Jacuzzi sits underneath a wooden deck which also boasts a fire pit for friendly gatherings.
The color palette employed seeks orange and terracotta tones found in the surrounding landscape. It reconciles the warmth of the wood with the freshness of the stone.
