19th-Century Tower Was Transformed Into New York‘s Most Beautiful New Hotel

Formerly known as Temple Court, the nine-storey building has been lovingly restored by Gerner Kronick + Valcarcel Architects, with interiors by Martin Brudnizki.

Aside from the granite and red-brick facade, the building boasts a host of original features, including iron brackets bearing sculpted dragons and panels around the staircase that display pastoral scenes in bas-relief. The dramatic location is home to 287 rooms, including 45 suites.

The new Beekman hotel features a lobby cocktail lounge helmed by chef Tom Colicchio; the central portrait is of Edgar Allan Poe, who once worked at the address.

As dominant dark tones are entertained by bursts of colour in the furniture, renowned interior designer Martin Brudnizki moves with elegance from struggling ambition to luxury and sophistication. Brudnizki’s interpretation of the building’s imperial feel is an urban refuge evoking Manhattan’s iconic hustle and bustle for guests’ benefit guests in the Beekman’s 287 rooms.

Words are not enough to describe this place, so let’s take a look at some pictures below, courtesy of yatzer.com
