JR seems to own the biggest art gallery in the world! He exhibits openly in the streets worldwide, thus drawing people’s attention. His work mixes Art and Act, talks about commitment, freedom, identity and limit.
This spring, JR has been invited by the Musée du Louvre to revolutionize one of the most definite aspects of the world-renowned museum into an enormous optical illusion.
The recognizable pyramid of Louvre will be transformed into an anamorphic drawing, as paper sheets envelope the glass façade. Printed on the paper is a big black and white image of the Louvre’s historic palace building.
An optical illusion is created and it all seems surreal.
