Atelier 8000, a Czech architectural firm has designed an amazing, futuristic mountain lodge for High Tatra Mountains in Slovakia.
This cubic house entitled ‘Kežmarské Hut’ is a winning design entry for an international competition resembling a transcendental structure that crashed from the sky amongst the mountains, this building is able to function completely off the grid, even at a high-altitude. It is claimed to be a sustainable dwelling place for mountaineers all through the year.
The futuristic aesthetics is given by the exterior of reflective tiles made from aluminium, glass and photovoltaics, the practical side of the structure keeps the sun’s harsh glare away.
The interior can be described by warm, down-to-earth touches, such as glue-laminated timber beams of red spruce, wooden finishes and modern furniture.
