The Pop Up restaurant is an interesting concept that has been popular in Britain since the 2000s. They are an underground alternative to classic restaurants that first appeared in Cuba and today the popularity increases because they want to promote gastronomy as a cultural experience.
The Pop Up that we’ve discovered is located in London, next to the Broadgate Ice Rink, in Exchange Square, Broadgate. Even though these restaurants are opened for a short period of time, they always find new interesting locations.
Bar BBQ on Ice has a fresh look created with lots of wood and old furniture pieces. The design was the creation of Alexander Waterworth (Alexander Evangelou and James Waterworth), a design studio that provides great interior design ideas, both functional and aesthetic.
Given the fact that this is located next to an ice rink, it has a much warm feeling that you might expect. Small, sparkling lights are hanging on the ceiling and the wooden floors, tables and bar help creating the cozy, welcoming atmosphere needed in the cold times. You can find messages written all over the place and the shelves behind the bar have been ingenious created out of old wooden boxes.
