Since we know everyone loves before and after projects, we want you to discover this awesome design coming from the Chinese architecture studio O-office. The great thing they did here is to renovate an old abandoned building, which has a dull, concrete structure previously used for the first immigrants that settled in the area. The Youth hotel is located in the iD town, Shenzhen, China, the new artsy district that used to be a factory and now keeps evolving thanks to O-office studio.
The beauty of their architectural design consists in the fact that even though the building had a sad, communist look, they modernized the place without destroying the main structure. After the renovation, the ground level became a public space and the layout is the same, as well as the rusty textures on the outside. The greater change on the exterior comes from the steel boxes and the colorful glass. The prefab steel structures completely change the image of the place and bring in that young and fresh twist.
Inside the Hotel the design is simple, almost monochromatic except the windows that bring in some colors. The iD Youth Hotel was ingeniously transformed into a modern, minimalistic space that welcomes young people from all over the world. Take a look and share your thoughts:
