Photograper Dan Martensen born and raised Pleasantville New York studied photography at the Rhode Island School of Design, later worked as an assistant to photographers Tom Munro, Stephane Sednaoui and Annie Leibovitz. Even since childhood he got preoccupied with arts, the photography being a long way road. He worked with the biggest models, musicians, artists and coolest young trend setters around the world.
He has been featured in in shows across the globe including the New York Armory Photography show, Art Basel, and recently in an exhibtion at the acclaimed Deichtorhallen Museum in Hamburg.
His portrait and fashion work has been published in i-D, Vogue, Vanity Fair, The New York Times, The Last Magazine, and GQ. Dan has shot campaigns for ESPRIT, H&M, Costume National, and Converse One Star. He has collaborated on special projects with designers such as Alexander Wang and David Yurman.
Dan’s first book entitled “Pictures from The Southwest”is due out this fall. His portofolio imbued the eye of the beholder with sun-kissed portraits, freezing beauty and facial expressions in a minimal, elegant display.
