At the end of every long week when you worked, studied or whatever took all your energy away, you feel the need to let you hair down. After thinking of these people and empathizing with them, a bunch of cool people came up with an original concept for a bar. This is Shoteria, located in the old town of Bucharest and their idea is to drink shots and then sober up in the same night.
The bar is strategically opened from Thursday to Sunday from 9pm to 5am, the perfect hours to party out. The design of the bar was inspired by the Romanian train stations and it focuses on old, reused and recycled objects that speak to the everyday Romanian. The typical Romanian humor is represented by the two boards that look like those found in the train stations, the Departures and the Arrivals.
On the departures board, of course, you can find the menu of the shots that will get you going for the night and on the Arrivals board you can see the menu of drinks that will sober you up after a long night. Funny, but indeed useful.
The design is very ingenious and even though the space is small, they made great use of it. The oak bar was custom made and finished with some old suitcases painted to give a touch of color. Discreetly placed in a corner, is a drinking fountain available for everyone, because we know in these circumstances, how important hydration is. In the bathroom they used kegs and copper basins to reinvent the sinks and neon lights reading “calatorie” (travel) remind us about the theme of the bar.
This is definitely a place that will see a lot of wild parties every weekend. You can visit their Facebook page where they will keep you posted with their events.
