New and cool concepts are something we love and we are excited to see how people use their imagination to offer something nice and useful to the city and its youth. Even though Bucharest is not one of the most bike friendly city in Europe, people still manage to do as they please and get their wheels on the move.
Since it’s not only fashionable, but also beneficial, bike riders are growing in number in Bucharest too, so the normal step following this trend is to find the shops to repair or pimp up a bike. And here comes Atelier Pinion, a unique place for Bucharest because it’s not only a repair shop for bikes, but also a meeting point for their owners, friends and bike fans to meet up and have a drink.
The idea might not be unique for Europeans, but for this crowded city, is definitely a breath of fresh air. This bike kitchen concept is beautifully reflected in the tiny, cozy space. A true challenge for the designers and the owner was the small, dark garage look that they transformed using natural light coming in through the glass doors and from the artificial light hidden behind wooden panels.
The design is simple, because there is no place for clutter in here. They played with the geometry of the wood from the bar and the slim metal and wooden chairs signed Alina Rizescu.
The theme on the walls are the mountains, ingeniously represented through poplar panels and obviously rode by bikers.
If you want to change, repair, pimp up your bike or just have a coffee, pay them a visit in the central area of Piata Romana, on Dacia Boulevard no 23.
