ALEXANDRE MONTEIRO aka HOPARE is a Paris-based figure of the street art scene. He was around 12 years old when he started his very first illegal graffiti.
Hopare’s creations are all arranged in a perfect geometry and a graphic abstract style. Often featuring faces, the artist uses variations of straight lines going from parallel to crossed ones. This complex pattern of lines gives an acute flow to his artwork, set up in a pure but strong movement.
Hopare’s inspiration comes from his own environment but also his numerous travels. The faces you can see, the floral or architectural designs come from striking places the artist visited, people he met and the emotions felt are represented with straight lines and a palette of bright colors. Another big part of Hopare’s work is his admirable use of shadow, light and space which deliver the 3D look of his portfolio.
The purpose of his murals is to build a connection with the passersby.
