The passion for antiques is something many people have, but few are really taking it to the next level. For us, and definitely for you as well, personalization has become very important for the living spaces, especially nowadays when everything is so standardized and industrialized. Antiques are one way to go if you want to bring something unique to your home. The other way, are people like Andra Irimia, founder of Antiqueen, who can do this for you.
Andra is one of those with a passion for antiques, and an eye for interior design, that took it to the next level, by getting involved in giving new life to old, ordinary pieces. Antiqueen is her project and it came into being due to this love for antiques and decorations. As she states “As a little child, I would constantly rearrange the furniture in my room and as I got older I started moving more often from one place to another because this meant I could redecorate and rediscover new possibilities”.
The beginning of Antiqueen was at her grandparents’ house where she rescued and transformed some chairs she needed for her dining table. Since then, she developed her techniques and restores furniture for herself, but also for those interested in having something personalized for their home. She is now studying interior design, which will definitely give her new ideas for future projects as well as new skills.
She is transforming ordinary cupboards by repainting them and adding new elements, she is making tables out of tree stumps, she reupholsters old armchairs and brings them to the 21st century. You would never guess that some of the pieces are tens of years old.
As big fans of crafts and arts, we are encouraging Antiqueen to pursue her dream and take her project to the highest levels. Take a look down below to the beautiful pieces she has done by far and visit her Facebook page for more details.
