Julim Rosa Buenos Aires, 1988.
Julim Rosa is an artist working in a range of medias — including installation, performance, video, sound, drawing and tattoo. Coming from an advertising background, her practice has always been related to communication systems. She has work with the topic for the last 10 years; investigating, manipulating, replicating and destroying them.
Being in direct contact with the context is an integral part of her creative process. In recent years, she has been specially keen in working in collaboration projects and collectives, such as La Sin Futuro, a platform for the use of urban spaces that will be demolished in the city of Buenos Aires.
In 2014 she was trained to become a tattooist and has worked full time as a tattoo artist in different studios. She is currently developing TIME TOGETHER project in Berlin, a project that explores the intersection between contemporary art and tattoo.
She currently lives and works in Berlin.
