Street artist Louis Masai is on a one-way mission to raise awareness on endangered creatures from UK wildlife. His London murals, including a hedgehog, beetle and sparrow, highlight species loss within the UK.
After Louis moved to London two years ago, having spent the previous 10 years in Cornwall where he completed his fine art degree, his father saw the possibility of selling his work rather than simply painting for pleasure.
His recent documentation of threatened creatures and raising of awareness of statistics has on occasions brought the notion of activism to light.
“I only see myself as an artist but I definitely see the power of visual language upon a wider audience and I’m enjoying utilizing that power via my murals and the modern world of social networking.”
