MIKE DARGAS was born in ’83 in Cologne, Germany. He started painting at a very early age and, thus, he was accepted at an art school as the only child in an adult class and learned different techniques.
In his early 20s, Mike becomes famous in the tattoo scene and wins all important awards and grants.
Inspired by Dali or Caravaggio, the artist begins to focus on surrealism and realism. His works show people realistically painted in oil on canvas. The precise technique gives, like a photography, a snapshot of the moment.
His stunning compositions could fool even the most trained eye. DARGAS confesses: “I try to capture a certain moment, a feeling that I see in my motif. Oil paint allows me to work very detailed and in every new work I try to get closer to the perfect image.”
