VSOUND COVER

  1. Rick Ross feat. Nas- One of Us

Another tune that mostly relies on the aggressive voice in order to spread the message of superiority. It seems that being side tracked from the real nature of hip hop catches well with the crowd and sounding lavish is all it takes. The song is a great example of what you need to do to sound big while not actually doing anything.

  1. M.I.A.-Broader than a Boarder

A throwback to her roots, M.I.A follows the blazing path of Paper Planes to the authority figure she is today. What makes this particular track stand out from the mass of female artists with probably a just as shaky past is that she goes on to innovate music trends instead of following them. Keeping it real can only be the explanation to why the newest release is a mighty furious attitude smack.

  1. Major Lazer feat. D.R.A.M.- Powerful (Remix)

The remix saves what it can from the drowsy vocals and turns the rather sleepy vibes into something eclectic and infinitely danceable. Dancehall may be stagnating, but having these artistic differences come out somewhat enjoyable and tops any other poppy-r’n’b novelty single.

  1. Jadakiss feat. Dyce Payne- Baby

As much as you’d enjoy it, the wannabe Whitney Houstan” Aaaaah….” fillers will make the song feel as loopy as an audio gif. Other than that there’s a refreshingly put message for the young and he novel-like structure fits to the changed times. Still, it is impossible to not have the female back singing stuck to your cortex, blurring out the rest of the track.

  1. Jay-Z- Black Gangster (Alternate Version)

Did Francis Ford Copolla direct the opening? If so, he should have continued with the rest of the narrative. I wouldn’t call it an alternate version since I’ve heard these things from Jay Z himself and other rappers many times before more interestingly put. It’s fun hearing how he is belittling his status, while the real alternative to this track would’ve been him rapping about juggling time between having the kids beg for ice cream and massaging his wife’s swollen feet after an 8 hour private jet ride.
