  1. J’von – The Escape from the Evil Queen

Imaginative and playful, this could very well be adapted into a hood Disney representation of Snow White. It’s splicing hip hop with electro jitterbugs and fills up the silence with fun, grimy vocals.

  1. Lushlife+CSLSX ft. Killer Mike- This Ecstatic Cult

The Philly artist manages to bridge Easters and Western coast by putting out some authentic laid back L.A. vibes. There’s some very good production going on that mixes head nodding while showing an emotional approach that explains the unpretentious hedonistic environment.

  1. DJ Mustard ft. David Scott- Whole Lotta Lovin’

Not even close to Led Zeppelin’s version, but a beautiful robotic romantic declaration anyway. The audio version of lean aka sizzurp is here, so expect drown out confusing beats. It’s missing the sonic statement and heavy rap hitters that were present in earlier work, but that must just be the mustard getting sour.

  1. Rationale – Something for nothing

I have to say that the voice sounds like a transgender Whitney Houston (without the crack) but in a very strange pleasant way. Well stylized and successfully incorporating plain keyboard intervals, this only strengthens the soulful lyrics. Not for the drop-hungry audiences, but it moves in a similar euphoric way.

  1. Oliver Heddens & Throttle – Waiting

If the Scissor Sisters were to hook up with Mika and play at a warehouse Chicago rave, this would probably come close it. There’s some convulsing electronica mixed with buffoon-like bridge, but suitable for the last dance ignorant. If it’s hook friendly and you won’t despise yourself for humming it afterwards, than it’s up to par.
