She always had an interest in tattooing and the taboo aspect of it was really appealing to her. After taking scientific illustration classes at the School of Art Institute in Chicago she got an apprenticeship at a tattoo shop. Stephanie’s style is a mix of art nouveau, woodcut and scientific illustration. You can see her fine art background in her designs, the color palette used, the placement and how they all come together from drawing on paper to ink on the skin.
