In case you didn’t hear this name before, you can now find out about Paulo Mendes Da Rocha, one of the most acclaimed architects in the world that for decades proved his talent and genius mind through his work, be it residential, commercial or even in public spaces. As he likes to say, “architecture is like speech: the organization of words is what’s important”. With every project, he proves that he speaks out his mind because the simple, exquisite work is what makes for complex minds.
This is why one can find in his residence the same elements he recurrently uses in his projects, elements that speak to him and unveil the importance of human creativity. His home, located in Sao Paolo, seems almost divided into two distinct areas: a very industrial vibe transmitted through the ceiling and the walls and the warm feeling coming from the wooden floors and the colorful kitchen tiles.
Although some may consider this a bit quirky, the space is beautiful through its simplicity and the greenery that is enhanced by the limited number of colors he used inside. Classical furniture, like the luxurious red couch is mixed with concrete tables and iron book shelves.
The outer space is continued with the same material, the grey concrete that creates a beautiful contrasts with the turquoise triangular swimming pool.
An incredible space for creative and open minds.
