We have seen all sort of weird places where people choose to live that are more or less dangerous. We are talking here about cities close to volcanoes or on the water, where natural phenomena could destroy everything in the blink of an eye.
In this category we can also put the town of Setenil de la Bodegas, located in Andalucia, Spain. There are certainly not many people that would feel secure living under the rocks, like these courageous people did. However, this small charming town has 3 000 inhabitants that chose to live here because they say that it is actually practical and not dangerous. These rocks and caves are indeed facilitating the settlement because all they had to do was to build the facades since the rest of the house was already there. Not to mention that they act as great insulations because they keep warm in the winter and cold in the summer.
Besides the architectural attraction the town is also known for the traditional products like wine and meat and the restaurants’ reputation is famous in the area.
I don’t know about you but we are definitely putting this on the list with places to visit. The more claustrophobic ones should probably plan a shorter visit. Nevertheless, have a look at the pictures before deciding because this is a unique place, worth visiting.
