We’ve talked about blackout tattooing here and we kind of loved it!
So let’s spread the word furthermore, turning our eyes on American Artist YUSK IMAI and his body paintings. His curiosity on human anatomy led him to paint figures, hands, and legs. This interest eventually gave rise to his monochrome body painting project, called “Exoskeleton”, where he decided to try and paint on actual bodies, with all the distinct textures that he has created for his paintings.
” An exoskeleton is the external skeleton that supports and protects animal’s body, it’s a second skin. It protects animals such as cicadas, lobsters, armadillos and other insects. My idea is to create a second skin for a human body, a protection, another layer for the body”, confesses the Artist.
IMAI uses acrylic ink and water based markers and so it takes a few minutes to wash it off because it’s ephemeral.
